چکیده

In this work we present a biomechanical model of the normal and reconstructed human hand. The objective of this model is to predict muscle forces during the following three tasks: tip pinch, key pinch and grasp. The model takes into account all the available tendons in the fingers. Two common tendon transfers, to reconstruct the pathological hands, are then simulated. The brachioradialis BR transferred to flexor pollicis longus FPL to restore the thumb flexion and the extensor proprius of the index finger EIP transferred to extensor pollicis longus EPL to restore extension and abduction of the thumb. A non linear optimization approach was used to predict the optimal combination of tendons that maximized pinch and grasp strength after repairing hand.

The Effects of Grasp Conditions on Maximal Acceptable Combined Forces (pushing and pinch forces) for Manual Insertion of Snap Fasteners

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of grasp conditions (types of grasp, grasp width, glove and types of coupling) on maximal pushing force (MPF) and required pinch force (RPF) during snap fit assembly. The results indicated that the type of grasp, the type of coupling and wearing gloves have significant (p

Grasp analysis of a four-fingered robotic hand based on Matlab simmechanics

The structure of the human hand is a complex design comprising of various bones, joints, tendons, and muscles functioning together in order to produce the desired motion. It becomes a challenging task to develop a robotic hand replicating the capabilities of the human hand. In this paper, the analysis of the four-fingered robotic hand is carried out where the tendon wires and a spring return me...

Grasp modelling with a biomechanical model of the hand.

The use of a biomechanical model for human grasp modelling is presented. A previously validated biomechanical model of the hand has been used. The equilibrium of the grasped object was added to the model through the consideration of a soft contact model. A grasping posture generation algorithm was also incorporated into the model. All the geometry was represented using a spherical extension of ...

Task Dependency of Grip Stiffness—A Study of Human Grip Force and Grip Stiffness Dependency during Two Different Tasks with Same Grip Forces

It is widely known that the pinch-grip forces of the human hand are linearly related to the weight of the grasped object. Less is known about the relationship between grip force and grip stiffness. We set out to determine variations to these dependencies in different tasks with and without visual feedback. In two different settings, subjects were asked to (a) grasp and hold a stiffness-measurin...
